Circus Acro Basics is where young athletes take their first steps into the world of circus acrobatics. This foundational program introduces children ages 7–10 to floor acrobatics, handstands, flexibility, circus props, and light muscle conditioning — building the physical literacy and confidence that supports everything that comes next.
Students work through Levels 1–2 of Perhosvoltti's level card system, progressing at their own pace through clear skill benchmarks. Each class blends structured skill instruction with circus props exploration and conditioning work, keeping sessions varied and engaging while ensuring steady development. When a level is completed, students take home their achievement card — a tangible celebration of their hard work.
Initial placement assessment takes place during the first 2–3 weeks, allowing the instructor to understand each child's starting point and tailor guidance accordingly. Safe progression is always emphasized over speed of advancement.
Classes run Monday and Wednesday with multiple time slots available, making it easy to find a session that fits your family's schedule. Choose one or two sessions per week depending on your child's enthusiasm and commitment level.
Forward and backward rolls — Safe, controlled somersaults that build spatial awareness and teach students how to move through rotation confidently.
Bridge positions and bridge stands — Progressive flexibility work developing the backbend strength and mobility needed for intermediate-level skills.
Cartwheel progressions — From assisted attempts through to clean, confident cartwheels with proper form and control.
Handstand development — Wall-assisted holds building toward freestanding balance and first steps on hands, developing upper body strength and body alignment.
Circus props — Juggling, balance equipment, and hoops introduce the breadth of circus disciplines and keep training playful and varied.
Flexibility training — Regular stretching work that builds the range of motion essential for safe advancement in acrobatics.
Strength conditioning — Age-appropriate muscle conditioning specifically designed for the physical demands of circus acrobatics.
Body control and spatial awareness — Learning to understand where your body is in space — a fundamental skill for all circus disciplines and physical activities.
No previous acrobatics experience required. All beginners are welcome.
Students should be comfortable following multi-step instructions in a group setting and able to work safely alongside peers. The first 2–3 weeks include an initial placement assessment so the instructor can understand each child's starting point.
Not sure if your child is ready? Book a trial class (€25) to let them experience a session firsthand. The trial fee is credited toward enrollment if they join.
