Parent-Child Acro is your family's first act in the world of circus arts — a 45-minute weekly class where children ages 4–6 and their parent or guardian explore movement, balance, and play side by side.
Every session is a shared adventure. You'll guide your child through gentle acrobatics, playful circus props, and imaginative movement games while our professional instructor leads the way. From two-footed jumps and forward rolls to hanging from low apparatus and balancing on beams, children build physical confidence through the safety of your presence.
The approach is exploratory and joyful. At age 4, the focus is on hand support, dynamic balance games, and learning to hang and swing. By 5 and 6, children progress to basic rolls, transitions between apparatus and floor work, and even early artistic expression — learning to move with intention, focus, and personality. Throughout it all, the parent shows by example and participates alongside their child, making every new skill a moment you experience together.
This is an 18-week semester program with one class per week at the same day and time throughout the semester.
Children in this class develop foundational movement skills that set the stage for a lifelong love of physical expression. Through guided play and circus-inspired activities, your child will work on:
Balance and spatial awareness — navigating low balance beams, balance balls, and dynamic movement games
Gross motor coordination — jumping with two feet, forward rolls, climbing, and controlled landings
Body awareness and posture — understanding how their body moves through space
Circus prop exploration — age-appropriate introduction to low trapeze, rings, scarves, and balance equipment
Fine motor development — hand support, gripping, and controlled hanging
Focus and self-regulation — learning to follow instructions, take turns, and wait patiently
Creative expression — movement through symbolic play, character exploration, and artistic presence
Confidence and independence — progressing from parent-supported movement toward following instructions with growing autonomy
Parents develop skills too — you'll learn how to safely support your child's movement, build trust through physical play, and create a positive relationship with physical activity that extends well beyond the studio.
No experience needed — this class is designed as a first step into circus arts.
Children must be between 4 and 6 years old, and one parent or guardian must participate actively in every session. Your child should be comfortable in a group setting with other children and adults present. Come in comfortable, fitted clothing with a water bottle and hair tied back for long hair. That's it — we'll take care of the rest.
