Mini Acro is a 45-minute weekly class for children ages 5–6 who are ready to step onto the mat independently and discover what their bodies can do.
This is where the foundations of circus acrobatics are built. Through a playful, age-appropriate approach, children learn their first real tumbling skills — forward and backward rolls, bridges, cartwheels, handstands, and headstands — alongside an introduction to circus props like juggling equipment and balance tools. Every skill is taught through games, obstacle courses, and creative movement, because at this age, the best learning happens when it doesn't feel like a lesson.
Mini Acro runs at two levels. Monday's class is designed for beginners — children who are new to acrobatics or just transitioning from parent-child classes. Thursday's class is for progression, building on basic mini acro skills with more challenge and complexity. Both sessions follow the same playful philosophy but meet children where they are developmentally.
What makes this class a true stepping stone is what's happening underneath the fun. Children are developing body awareness, spatial orientation, and the tumbling fundamentals that are essential for every circus discipline they might pursue later. They're also learning to follow instructions in a group, take turns, manage their own safety awareness, and build confidence through independent achievement — skills that matter far beyond the studio.
The instructor assesses developmental readiness during the first sessions to confirm each child is in the right group. Parents must stay on premises but are not in the training space, giving children the room to grow while keeping you close by.
Classes run once per week on Mondays and Thursdays (17:35–18:20) as part of an 18-week semester. Students enrol in one or both sessions. A progress update is provided mid-semester, and one makeup class is available per semester.

Mini Acro builds the physical and cognitive foundations that set young acrobats up for everything that comes next — all delivered through play, exploration, and age-appropriate challenge.
Forward and backward rolls — learning to tuck, rotate, and control momentum safely
Back flexibility — building the back flexibility, arm strength, and body awareness that unlocks future skills like walkovers
Cartwheels — developing the coordination, weight transfer, and spatial orientation to move sideways through space
Handstands and headstands — first experiences being upside down with support, building comfort and upper body strength
Circus props introduction — juggling scarves and balls, balance equipment, and other tools that develop hand-eye coordination and focus
Body awareness and spatial orientation — understanding where their body is in space, how to control it, and how to land safely
Motor skill development — jumping, climbing, crawling through tunnels, walking on low beams, and navigating obstacle courses
Light muscle conditioning — age-appropriate exercises that build the strength acrobatics requires, disguised as games
Independence and self-regulation — following instructions without a parent present, waiting for their turn, and managing their own behaviour in a group
Safety awareness — learning to listen to their body, follow rules around equipment, and understand boundaries
Confidence through achievement — the experience of trying something hard and succeeding, which builds the willingness to try the next hard thing
For Monday's beginner class, no previous experience is needed — just a child who is ready to participate independently. Your child should be able to follow instructions in a group setting, feel comfortable without a parent in the room, and engage with other children and the instructor.
For Thursday's basics-intermediate class, children should have basic mini acro skills from at least one semester of training or equivalent experience. If you're unsure which session is the right fit, the instructor will assess your child's readiness during the first classes and recommend placement.
One important note: parents must remain on the premises for the entire class, but you won't be in the training space itself — this is your child's time to shine on their own.
